Leishen Intelligent LS180S3 Hybrid Solid-State LiDAR

The LS180S3 series is a hybrid solid-state LiDAR developed by Leishen Intelligent, integrating a self-produced 1550 nm fibre laser for high-precision 3D perception. With a detection range of up to 250 meters and ±2 cm accuracy, it enables reliable recognition of people, vehicles, animals, and objects across diverse environments. Operating on the Time-of-Flight principle, the sensor delivers a dense point cloud at 1.65 million points per second, ensuring accurate mapping and object detection even in challenging industrial or outdoor conditions. Designed with an IP6K9K-rated housing, it withstands dust, water, shock, and vibration, making it ideal for industrial automation, transportation, and safety-critical applications.

The system features a wide horizontal field of view of 120° and model-specific vertical FOVs up to 25°, with angular resolutions as fine as 0.116° × 0.111°. It supports Class 1 eye-safe laser operation, industrial Ethernet connectivity, and multiple clock synchronization options including GPS, PTP, and gPTP. The device is compatible with both Windows and Linux platforms, offering point cloud visualization, configuration, and ROS integration for seamless system deployment. Advanced communication protocols (MSOP, DIFOP, UCWP) ensure robust data output, configuration, and real-time monitoring, while time synchronisation options guarantee precise timestamping for autonomous systems.

The LS180S3 is powered by 9–36 VDC and consumes less than 25 W, housed in a compact design weighing under 1.6 kg. It supports single-echo operation and outputs standardized data packets for easy integration into mapping, navigation, and perception systems. Factory variants include different vertical FOV models (22.5° and 25°) with distinct angular resolutions.
